I read that the Sámi had a very hard time convincing the UN and various indigenous groups that they are indigenous. "But, you are a bunch of pale skinned, blue eyed, blonde, white people." Well, not all of us, but a lot of us. Eventually someone joiked for them. That did the trick. I guess they figured that "White people don't do THAT!"
